The Cashmere Producers of
America was
a nonprofit organization dedicated to the American
Cashmere Industry. Its goals were to define
American cashmere, educate growers, establish a
true American breed of cashmere goat, promote 4H,
encourage goats as part of established livestock
industries and maintain an industrywide focus on
quality. CaPrA has entered a hiatus and is no
longer an active organization
Education
CaPrA strives to maintain
industry wide standards. We have certified judges
and established guidelines for regional shows.
Classing Clinics can be held. Contact the
WebMaster
for more information.

The best test of a cashmere goat
is to put it up against others in a regulated
competition. CaPrA did not maintain a Herd Book,
designed to identify and track superior
genetics.
Membership
To locate CaPrA members in your
area, go to the membership directory and
find who lives near you. Visiting with established
growers is the best route to success.
